Location: Situated in the north corner of the village Cambes-en-Plaine, on the Rue du Mesnil Ricard about 100 yards (92 metres) south east of the junction with the D220A. Cambes-en-Plaine is about 3¾ miles (6 kilometres) north-north-west of the centre of Caen and about 5 miles (8 kilometres) west of Bénouville.

Cemetery and Casualty Information
The cemetery was designed by architect Philip D. Hepworth and was built and is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. All those buried in this cemetery were killed between 7th June and 12th July 1944 during the capture of Caen. The majority of casualties (134) are from the North Staffordshire and South Staffordshire Regiment of the 59th (Staffordshire) Infantry Division. There are no D-Day, Tuesday 6th June 1944, casualties.
Casualties range from 18 to 40 years of age.
